Fourth, procedures are needed to make it easier for the public to become involved in decisions about cutting white pines on state and county public land.  When cutting is being considered for federal land, the public is always notified so the public can comment.  The public also has a right to know when cutting is being planned for their state and county forests. Ask your legislators to require state and county foresters to follow the same public involvement procedures federal foresters follow.
